Shawn D. Sheridan

Shawn joined Crag Crux Climbers in August of 2002. Over the years he has climbed with various CCC’ers, followed by good conversation over beers and food, hosted “Beginners’ Nights” at Rock Oasis, been the name on the website as the one to contact for climbing at Rock Oasis, and even shared a tent with Ken in 2003 in Kentucky, his first time to “The Red”, going with a CCC group.

More recently, as a result of him responding, “Well, I live pretty close, I can go…” to a call for volunteers to attend the February 2009 Toronto Sporting Alliance workshop, he joined the Crag Crux Climbers Working Group to help figure out a direction for Crag Crux Climbers.

Outside of climbing, Shawn is an Information Technology professional and leader. He was a Director on the Board of Directors of Fife House, which provides supportive housing and support services for people living with HIV and AIDS. He chaired the Development Committee while on the board, and was a member of the finance committee. He is also currently a member of the Canada Central Gay Rodeo Association, and is a swimmer and SCUBA diver.
