Operating Committee - Vice Chair
Xiaoping Li
Xiaoping founded Crag Crux Climbers in 1996. But even before that, he was involved in climbing. One of the most significant experiences in his life was climbing the Big King Mountain in his hometown in China when he was about nine years old. "It proved that I could achieve more than what I had thought I could." Xiaoping has been a part of the "climbing scene" in Toronto for some time, well known at the various gyms in the city.
Over the years, Xiaoping has worked hard to build and support Crag Crux Climbers, and was instrumental in forming the Crag Crux Climbers Working Group in February of 2009 to determine a direction for the club.
Out of his love of rock climbing, Xiaoping started his experiential team building company www.thepingway.com in 2000, which he runs to this day. He has facilitated team building for thousands of participants. He has also been involved in water polo with TriggerFish. "I intend to build a LGBT climbing community together with like-minded climbers, and enjoy my climbing with members in this community."
