Workshop: Safe Release and Lowering with Reverso and ATC-Guide at Rattlesnake Point
Rock climbing
Milton
Ontario
Start: 2011-11-19 00:00
Timezone: Etc/GMT-5
When a lead climber belays a seconder with a Reverso or ATC-Guide, the lead climber must know how to safely lower the seconder should the seconder fall off a diagonal route (like those routes in Bon Echo) and needs to be lowered to a point to be able to start climbing again. The steps to release the locking of the rope to lower the seconder who is hanging on the rope can be more complicated than those demonstrated in videos clips by Petzl and Black Diamond.
Maximum numbers of participants: 6
Gear required: rock shoes, harness, helmet, a prusik cord, a rope if you can bring one, a reverse or ATC-guide (all gear must be UIAA approved)
Gear recommended: water, lunch, sunscreen lotion or rain gear.
