Wow! What happened?!? - The New CCC Website
Posted March 18th, 2009 by shawn
You may not have been to the Crag Crux Climbers' website in a while, but it's changed a bit.
First off, HUGE thanks to Ken for hosting and managing our old one for so long. It provided a good and invaluable presence on the net for us, and a number of members had found us through it.
This new site is as a result of the work done by the Working Group that has been diligently meeting, eating breakfast, and through all that helping to figure out what Crag Crux Climbers will be going forward. Make sure you read Crag Crux Climbers - A Blueprint for the Future, which contains an up-to-date synopsis of what the Working Group has done and its recommendations.
Finally, poke around the site. You'll see this message until you click the "Close" link in the upper right-hand corner of this box. Below in the centre section of the page is a summery of activity on the site.
And don't forget to complete your Profile Details (click here to get there), telling other members a bit about yourself, indicating your climbing levels, specifying how you'd like to be notified about new events, forum posts, and comments, and signing up for Member Benefits (more on that to come). You'll also want to upload a picture of yourself that will appear in your profile, and along-side your posts on the site. You can do that in your Account Settings (click here to get there). Take a look at the other settings there too, and make sure they're the way you want them.
Perhaps the most important difference between our old site and this new one is that you as a member can now contribute to the content here. You have your own blog, which you can use how you like. You can also post events, forum topics, and stories, comment on other content on the site, and even upload pictures and put them in galleries you create.
So enjoy the site, and we'll see you on the walls!
